Government and Autonomous Bodies Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance (Amendment) Ordinance, 1987

The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on 8th July, 1987 (23 Asharh, 1394) and is hereby published for general information:-

An Act made to amend the Government and Autonomous Bodies Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance Ordinance, 1982

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Government and Autonomous Bodies Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance Ordinance, 1982 (XXXIX of 1982), for the purposes appearing hereafter;

Now, therefore, it is herewith enacted as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Government and Autonomous Bodies Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance (Amendment) Ordinance, 1987.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on 14th May, 1987 (30th Vaishakh, 1394).

2. Amendment of section 9 of Ordinance XXXIX of 1982.- In sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Government and Autonomous Bodies Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance Ordinance, 1982 (XXXIX of 1982), heretoafter referred to as the said Ordinance, for the words "such lesser percentage as may be prescribed or twenty taka" the words "forty taka" shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of section 10 of Ordinance XXXIX of 1982.- In section 10 of the said Ordinance,-

(a) for the words "five years", twice occuring, the words "ten years" shall be substituted;
(b) for the words "ten years", twice occuring, the words "fifteen years" shall be substituted.

5. Substitution of the Schedule of Ordinance XXXIX of 1982.- For the Schedule of the said Ordinance the following Schedule shall be substituted, namely:-

The amount of benevolent grant payable under section 10 shall be as follows:
Pay slab Rate of monthly benevolent grant.

6. Repeal and savings.- (1) The Government and Autonomous Bodies Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance (Amendment) Ordinance, 1987 (VIII of 1987) stands herewith repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, all acts done, actions taken or approvals granted under the said Ordinance amended by Ord. No.VIII of 1987 shall be deemed to have been done, taken or granted under the said Ordinance amended by this Act.
