Workmen's Compensation (Amendment) Act, 1987

The following Act of Parliament has received the assent of the President on the 19th July, 1987 (second Shravan, 1394) and is hereby published for general information

An Act made further to amend the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 (VIII of 1923);

Now, therefore, it is herewith enacted as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.-
(1) This Act may be called the Workmen's Compensation (Amendment) Act, 1987.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st June of 1985.

2. Amendment of section 2 of Act VIII of 1923.- In section 2 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 (VIII of 1923), for the words "fifteen hundred" in (n)(ii) of sub-section (1) the words "three thousand" shall be substituted.
