Ordinance No.12, 1990
An Ordinance made for the amendment of the Land Appeal Court Act, 1990
Whereas it is expediant to amend the Land Appeal Court Act, 1989 (Act
No.24 of 1989) for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
and whereas the Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied
that circumstances exist which render immediate action
necessary;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred to him by article 93 (1) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the President is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-
1. Short title.- This Ordinance shall be called Land Appeal Board (Amendment) Ordinance, 1990.
2. Amendment of section 6 of Act No.24 of 1989.- Section 6 of
the Land Appeal Board Act, 1989 (Act No.24 of 1989) shall be substituted
by the following section, namely:-
"6. Reconsideration.- (1) Whoever has been afflicted by an order
of the Board may, within a period of sixty days after such order has been
given, apply,
in the manner prescribed by law, to the Board for a reconsideration
of the order.
(2) The Board may, if it thinks reasonable so to do, postpone the realisation
of its decision in perspective of the appalant's request
until the application
submitted under subsection (1) has been settled.
