BERMUDA STATUTORY
INSTRUMENT
GN 654/1989
CALLING IN OF THE 1983 FIVE DOLLAR COIN
[notice given under section 16 of the Bermuda
Monetary Authority Act 1969
[title 16 item 11] and brought into
operation on 17 November 1989]
The Bermuda Monetary
Authority hereby gives notice that, pur suant to section 16 of the Bermuda
Monetary Authority Act 1969, the
1983 five dollar circulation coin is being
called in. The particulars of the
calling in are as follows:—
(a) the 1983 five dollar circulation coin
("the coin") will not be legal tender on or after 1st January 1990;
(b) the coin will be exchangeable for valid legal
tender up to and including 31st December 1999;
(c) exchange for valid legal tender pursuant to
paragraph (b) above will be made, during such hours as the Authority may
publish in
the Gazette from time to time, at the offices of the Bermuda
Monetary Authority, and nowhere else;
(d) the coin will not be exchangeable for valid
legal tender on or after 1st January 2000.
