Calling In of the One Dollar Note and the Fifty Cent Circulation Coin

BERMUDA STATUTORY INSTRUMENT

GN 200/1990


CALLING IN OF THE ONE DOLLAR NOTE AND THE FIFTY CENT CIRCULATION COIN

[notice given under section 16 of the Bermuda Monetary Authority Act 1969
[title 16 item 11] and brought into operation on 30 March 1990]

The Bermuda Monetary Authority hereby gives notice that, pur suant to section 16 of the Bermuda Monetary Authority Act 1969, the one dollar note and the fifty cent circulation coin are being called in. The particulars of the calling in are as follows:—

(a) the one dollar note and the fifty cent circulation coin ("the note" and "the coin") will not be legal tender on or after 1 May 1990;

(b) the note and the coin will be exchangeable for valid legal tender up to 30 April 2000;

(c) exchange for valid legal tender pursuant to paragraph (b) above will be made, on any business day, during such hours as the Authority may publish in the Gazette from time to time, at the offices of the Bermuda Mone tary Authority, and nowhere else;

(d) the note and the coin will not be exchangeable for valid legal tender on or after 1 May 2000.
