UNITED KINGDOM STATUTORY INSTRUMENT

THE BERMUDA (EVIDENCE) ORDER 1987
[made under section 10(3) of the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975, and brought into operation on 1 July 1987 and also published in Bermuda as GN 388/1987]
1 This Order may be cited as the Bermuda (Evidence) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st July 1987.
2 Subsections (2), (3) and (4) of section 8 of the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975 and the provisions of Schedule 2 to that Act that relate to the Foreign Tribunals Evidence Act 1856, the Evidence by Commission Act 1859, the Extradition Act 1870, the Evidence by Commission Act 1885 and section 3(1)(b) of the Arbitra tion (International Investment Disputes) Act 1966, as amended in its ap plication to Bermuda, shall extend to Bermuda.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order extends to Bermuda the provisions of the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975 that provide for the repeal of the Foreign Tribunals Evidence Act 1856, the Evidence by Commission Act 1859, section 24 of the Extradition Act 1870, the Evidence by Com mission Act 1885 and section 3(l)(b) of the Arbitration (International In vestment Disputes) Act 1966.
