[made under section 40 of the Hospital Insurance Act 1970 [title 18 item 9] and brought into operation on 1 April 1971]

Powers of Auditor

1 The Audit Act 1968 [title 14 item 4] shall apply to the audit and inspection of the accounts of the Fund and the Auditor shall in relation thereto have the powers conferred on him by section 6 of that Act.

Interim examinations

2 (1) In addition to the annual audit under section 16(2) of the Hospital Insurance Act 1970 [title 18 item 9], the Auditor shall, without notice to the Commission, make interim examinations of the receipts and payments of the Fund and the Auditor shall submit to the Commission a report on each such interim examination upon the completion of the ex amination.

(2) A period of six months shall not intervene between succes sive examinations of the accounts of the Fund in pursuance of para graph (1).
