MARINE BOARD (FERRY SERVICES FARES)
REGULATIONS 1992

[made by the Minister of Transport under section 97 of the Marine Board Act 1962 [title 22 item 3] and brought into operation on 1 April 1992]

Citation

1 These Regulations may be cited as the Marine Board (Ferry Services Fares) Regulations 1992.

Ferry services fares

2 With effect from 1 April 1997 the fares specified in the Schedule shall be levied for ferry services.

SCHEDULE

PART A

SOMERSET SERVICES

FARES

1

Cash payment at the turnstile in Hamilton subject to such discount, not exceeding 10%, as the Minister may from time to time allow to an authorized agent who purchases 200 tokens or more

$3.75 per person

2

Tokens for adult persons under the age of 65 years

$24.00 per packet of 15 tokens

3

Auxiliary bicycles

$3.75 each

4

*Tokens for students and children

$6.00 per packet of 15 tokens

PART B

PAGET AND WARWICK SERVICE

FARES

1

Cash payment at the turnstile in Hamilton subject to such discount, not exceeding 10%, as the Minister may from time to time allow to an authorized agent who purchases 200 tokens or more

$2.25 per person

Tokens for adult persons under the age of 65 years

$15.00 per packet of 15 tokens

*Tokens for students and children

$6.00 per packet of 15 tokens

*The expression "student" means a person bona fide attending any school on a full-time basis as a pupil or student.

*The expression "child" means a person of or above the age of five years and under sixteen years of age.

The expression "authorized agent" includes a postmaster, postmistress or ferry contractor duly authorized by the Minister to sell tokens.

PART C

SPECIAL PERSONS

A special person shall, on the production of a special transportation identification, travel free of charge.

*The expression "special person" means a person of or above the age of 65 years or a person who satisfies the Minister that he is suffering from a disability, whether physical or otherwise, which hinders him from embarking or disembarking from the ferry unaided.
