STAMP ACT 1917

Interpretation

1 In this Act "stamp" means any impressed or adhesive stamp available for the payment of stamp duty or postage in Bermuda.

Offences

2 (1) Any person —

(a) who fraudulently removes or causes to be removed from any instrument any stamp, or affixes to any other in strument or uses for any postal purposes any stamp which has been so removed, with intent that the stamp may be used again; or

(b) sells or offers for sale, or utters, any stamp which has been so removed, or utters any instrument having thereon any stamp which has to his knowledge been so removed as aforesaid, commits an offence against this Act:

Punishment on summary conviction: a fine of $1,440.

(2) In this section "instrument" includes any postal packet as defined by the Post Office Act 1900 [title 24 item 1] and the cover of any such postal packet.
