MARINE BOARD (DECLARATION OF SPEED LIMITS FOR BOATS) (MARINERS) NOTICE 1988
[made under section 10(1)(a) of the Marine Board Act 1962 [title 22 item 3] and brought into operation on 21 July 1988]

Citation
1 This notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Declaration of Speed Limits for Boats) (Mariners) Notice 1988.
Speed limit for boats
2 Subject to paragraph 3, any person navigating a boat within 100 meters of the shoreline of any of the Islands of Bermuda shall not exceed 5 nautical miles per hour and in any event shall ensure that his boat does not create a wake.
Speed limits not applicable in certain areas
3 The restrictions imposed in paragraph 2 shall not apply to per sons while navigating boats in the following areas within the Islands of Bermuda—
(a) Two Rock Passage;
(b) Head of the Lane Passage;
(c) Town Cut Channel;
(d) Ferry Reach (from the sea to the Airfield Landing light pylons approaching from the West);
(e) Western Hogfish Channel from the Dockyard to the sea except the section west of Mangrove Bay between the Quintons and Gray's Point (also shown as Flora Point on some charts).
