Order amending laws upon change in responsibility of Minister

1 (1) Where the Governor, by virtue of the powers vested in him by section 61 of the Constitution [title 2 item 1], transfers from one Minister to another the responsibility for the conduct of any business of the Government, the Premier may, by order published in the Gazette, amend any statutory provision the administration of which is, in the opinion of the Premier, affected by the transfer by altering any reference in such statutory provision—

(a) to any Minister, Ministry, Government Department or Government Board to that of another Minister, Ministry, Government Department or Government Board; or

(b) any public officer of any Ministry or Government Department to refer to a public officer of another Ministry or Government Department.

(2) An order made under subsection (1) shall not be subject to Parliamentary scrutiny under section 6 of the Statutory Instruments Act 1977 [title 1 item 3].

Change in style of Minister

Changes in both style and responsibility of Minister

3 Where the Governor, by virtue of the powers vested in him by section 61 of the Constitution [title 2 item 1], has both transferred from one Minister to another the responsibility for the conduct of any business of Government and altered the style of one or more of the Ministers affected by such transfer, an order under section l may, in addition to dealing with the matters specified in that section, amend any reference in any statutory provision to the Minister whose style has been so altered, or to his Ministry or to a Government Department for which he is responsible, to the style by which he or they shall thenceforward be known.
