THE MERCHANT SHIPPING (REGISTRAR OF BRITISH SHIPS IN BERMUDA) ORDER 1978
[made by Her Majesty in Council under the Merchant Shipping Act 1984 and brought into operation on 22 November 1978 and published in Bermuda as GN 607/1978]
Citation and commencement
1 This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Registrar of British Ships in Bermuda) Order 1978 and shall come into operation on 22 November 1978
Interpretation
2 The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for to interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
Registrar of British Ships in Bermuda
3 The Registrar of British Ships in Bermuda shall be the person for the time being holding or acting in the office of Registrar of Shipping, Bermuda, or if that office is vacant or if the person holding it or acting therein is absent from Bermuda or is for any reason unable to discharge the functions of that office, the person for the time being performing the functions of Principal Marine Surveyor, Bermuda.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Order)
This Order provides that the Registrar of British Ships in Bermuda shall be the Registrar of Shipping, Bermuda, or if that office is vacant or if the Registrar is absent or unable to act, the Principal Marine Surveyor, Bermuda.
