Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) (Overseas Territories) Order 1983

THE MERCHANT SHIPPING (DISTRESS SIGNALS AND PRE VENTION OF COLLISIONS) (OVERSEAS TERRITORIES)
OR DER 1983

[Revoked effective 30 January 1990 by S.I. 1989 No. 2400 save that regulations 1(3) and (4)(b) of the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) Regulations 1983 as extended to Bermuda shall continue to apply in Bermuda]

1(3) Subject to paragraph (4)(b) below, any reference to collision regulations in the Merchant Shipping Acts 1894 to 1977 (whether or not including a reference to section 418 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894) and in subordinate legislation made thereunder shall have effect as ref erences to regulations for the prevention of collisions made under section 21 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979 as that section applies in the United Kingdom, as extended to the Territory.

(4)(b) Notwithstanding paragraph (3) above, in relation to sea planes references in sections 418, 419 and 421 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 to collision regulations shall continue to have effect as references to regulations made under section 418 of that Act.
