Sir,

I have the honour to refer to the Agreement constituted by the notes exchanged on June 2nd and June 5th, 1924, regarding reciprocal notifications in the case of Norwegian subjects in lunatic asylums in Great Britain and British subjects in lunatic asylums in Norway. In compliance with the desire expressed by the Norwegian Government the Governments of His Majesty's self-governing Dominions have been approached and have expressed their willingness to make arrangements with the Government of Norway similar to those set out in that Agreement.

2. I have the honour, therefore, to propose that the present note and your reply thereto should be regarded as placing on record that the terms of the Agreement will apply as from the 1st August 1926 in respect of the Dominion of Canada, the Commonwealth of Australia, the Dominion of New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, the Irish Free State and Newfoundland, in the same manner and on the same conditions as they apply between Norway and Great Britain, subject to any modifications as regards procedure which experience may show to be advisable.

Sir,

In a Note of May 20th, 1926 (No. T. 6116/4135/375) Your Excellency has been good enough to inform me that in compliance with the desire expressed by the Norwegian Government the Governments of His Majesty's self-governing Dominions have expressed their willingness to make arrangements with the Government of Norway similar to those set out in the Agreement constituted by the notes exchanged on June 2nd and June 5th, 1924, regarding reciprocal notifications in the case of British subjects in lunatic asylums in Norway and Norwegian subjects in lunatic asylums in Great Britain.

2. Furthermore Your Excellency has proposed that Your Excellency's above-cited note and my reply thereto should be regarded as placing on record that the terms of the Agreement will apply as from the 1st of August 1926 in respect of the Dominion of Canada, the Commonwealth of Australia, the Dominion of New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, the Irish Free State and Newfoundland, in the same manner and on the same conditions as they apply between Norway and Great Britain, subject to any modifications as regards procedure which experience may show to be advisable.

On this occasion, I have the honour to state that Your Excellency's proposal meets with the approval of the Norwegian Government.
