| EXCHANGE OF LETTERS BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF NEPAL CONCERNING THE CONTINUATION OF THE TRISULI HYDRO ELECTRIC
PROJECT Kathmandu, 28 May 1961 LETTERS D.O.No.- F.18.1 IPA-IIAM161, dated 25th May, 1961 from Indian Aid Mission, Nepal, Kathmandu to Dr. Y P. Pant, Secretary, Ministry
of Finance and Economic Affairs, His Majesty's Government of Nepal, Singha Durbar, Kathmandu. My Dear Secretary, Article IV of the Agreement dated 20th November, 1958 between the Government of India and His Majesty's Government of Nepal concerning
the Trisuli Hydro Electric Project provides that in case the project is NOT completed by 31st March, 1961 the work may be continued
beyond 31st March, 1961 with the concurrence of the participating Governments until the project is completed. I am to inform you
that the Government of India are agreeable to the continuation of the work relating to the Project beyond 31st March, 1961 till completion
of the Project. I will be grateful if concurrence of His Majesty's Government of Nepal is also communicated to me. ___________________ Ref 1477 from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, His Majesty's Government of Nepal, Kathmandu, dated the 28th May, 1961
to Shri D.R. Kohli, Director, Indian Aid Mission, Kathmandu. My Dear Director, I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No. F.181/PA/ IAM/61, dated 25th May, 1961 reading as follows "Article IV of the Agreement dated 20th November, 1958 between the Government of India and His Majesty's Government of Nepal concerning
the Trisuli Hydro Electric Project provides that in case the project is not completed by 31-3-1961, the work may be continued beyond
31-3-1961 with the concurrence of the participating Govts. until the Project is completed. I am to inform you that the Government
of India are agreeable to the continuation of the work relating to the project beyond 31-3-1961 till completion of project. I will
be grateful if concurrence of His Majesty's Government of Nepal is also communicated to me." I am to say that His Majesty's Government of Nepal also agree to the proposal that the work relating to the Trisuli HydroElectric
Project be continued beyond 31st March, 1961, till completion of the project. I should like to take this opportunity to express my
appreciation of the assistance received from the Government of India. |
