Dear Shri PHUONG,
I am writing to you in continuation of our two recent meetings on August 28 and September 6, 1971 respectively regarding the proposal
of the Government of the Republic of India to extend of another three years from 22nd September 1971, the terms of the Agreement
for the Development of Trade Relations between India and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam as contained in the acknowledgment letter
dated 22nd September, 1956, of Shri K.B.Lall (then Joint Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Consumer
Industries to Mr. Ly Ban (then Chief of Foreign Trade Department, Ministry of Commerce, Government of the Democratic Republic of
Vietnam). The acceptance of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam of this proposal of the Government of the Republic
of India was conveyed by you to me during our meeting on September 6, 1971.
I have been authorised by the Government of India to formalise the extension of the terms and schedule confirmed in Shri K.B. Lall’s
letter referred to above for a further period of three years commencing from 22nd September, 1971.
Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and convey your formal acceptance of this extension of the Agreement.
