| (1) Every summons issued by a court shall signed by the Registrar of such court and shall be in the prescribed form. If the person summoned is a person who is believed not to be able to read Sinhala, a translation in a language in which he is believed to be conversant shall also be served on him. |

| (2) There shall be attached to every summons issued to an accused person a copy of the complaint or report or other document upon which proceedings against him have been instituted, together with a list specifying the names and addresses of the witnesses for tin-prosecution, if any. |
