Bribery Act (No. 2 of 1965) - Sect 45

Failure to assist investigating officer, and obstruction or resistance of search. [ 55, 40 of 1958.]

72. A person-
(a) who, when requested under subsection (4) of section 4 to render to the Bribery Commissioner, or to any officer empowered by section 3 to direct and conduct an investigation, any assistance in the exercise of his powers or the discharge of his duties under this Act, wilfully neglects or omits to render that assistance, or [ยง 55, 40 of 1958.]
(b) who obstructs or resists the Bribery Commissioner, or any officer authorized by the Bribery Commissioner, in the exercise of the powers of entry and search under subsection (3) of section 4, or
(c) who obstructs or resists the execution of a search warrant issued under section 7, trial and conviction by a Magistrate, be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred rupees and, upon a second or subsequent conviction of an offence under this section,
shall, in addition to such fine, be liable to rigorous imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year.
