| 68. In this Act. Unless the context otherwise requires-"by law" means a by-law made by the Council of the University under this Act ;"local authority" means a Municipal Council, Urban Council or Pradeshiya Sabha and includes any authority created or established by or under any law to excercise, perform and discharge powers, functions and duties corresponding or similar to the powers, duties and functions exercised, performed and discharged by any such Council or Sabha ;"Ordinance" means any Ordinance made by the University ;"regulation" means any regulation made by the Senate of the University ;"rule" means any rule made by an Authority or other body of the University ;"teacher" means a Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturer, and the holder of any post declared by Ordinance to be a post, the holder of which is a teacher ; and"the Council" means the Council of the University. |
