Companies Act (No. 17 of 1982) - Sect 232

Limitation on maximum share holding

232. No person shall either individually or together with his wife or minor child or children hold, either directly or through nominees, more than ten per of the issued share capital of a people's company: Provided, however, that the State shall be entitled to be a shareholder, capable of holding unrestricted share capital. The State shall be deemed to be a corporation for purposes of representation.
