Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Act (No. 34 of 2002) - Sect 21

Damage to property of the Authority to be an offence

21.
(1) Every person who wilfully removes, destroys or damages any property belonging to the Authority or hinders or prevents such property being used or operated in the manner in which it is intended to be used or operated, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding in Sri Lankan rupees the equivalent of ten thousand SDR or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two months, or to both such fine and imprisonment.
(2) In any prosecution for an offence under subsection (1), the court may on application being made in that behalf by the Authority in addition to the penalty referred to in subsection (1), order for the payment by the accused to the Authority such amount as may be determined in the order, as compensation for damages caused.
