Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Act (No. 34 of 2002) - Sect 24

Recovering for damages done to property of the Authority

24.
(1) In every case where any damages is caused to any property of the Authority by any aircraft or by any person employed in or about an aircraft, the cost of making good the damage shall be recovered by the Authority from the owner, operator or the person in charge of the aircraft, either jointly or severally or jointly and severally.
(2) In the process of recovering damages as referred to in subsection (1), the Authority may, where necessary detain such aircraft until the cost of making good the damage done has been paid to the Authority, or any security as determined by the Authority as being sufficient to cover the cost has been given for the amount due.
(3) The Authority may, where it considers appropriate waive in whole or in part any of the charges or fees payable in respect of any aircraft defined under subsection (2).
