Customs (Amendment) Law (No. 35 of 1974) - Sect 21

Replacement of section 132 of the principal enactment

21. Section 132 of the principal enactment is hereby repealed and the following new section substituted therefor: -
132. Every person who shall remove any goods imported into Sri Lanka from any ship, quay, wharf, or other place previous to the examination thereof by the proper officer of customs, unless under the care or authority of such officer, or who shall remove or withdraw from any quay, wharf, or other place any goods entered to be warehoused after the landing thereof, so that no sufficient account is taken thereof by the proper officer, or so that the same are not July warehoused, and every person who shall assist or be otherwise concerned in such removal or withdrawal, or shall knowingly harbour, keep or conceal or shall knowingly permit or suffer, or cause or procure to be harboured, kept, or concealed, any such goods, or into whose possession any such goods shall knowingly come, every such person shall forfeit either treble the value thereof, or be liable to a penalty of two thousand rupees, at the election of the Collector of Customs.".
