Code Of Criminal Procedure Act (No. 15 of 1979) - Sect 282

Sentence of death and whipping

285.
(1) When a person is sentenced to death the sentence shall direct that he be hanged by the neck till he is dead on a day and at a place, decided upon by the President.
(2) When a person is sentenced to whipping the judgment shall state whether he is above or under sixteen years of age and shall specify the number of lashes or strokes to be inflicted, such number in no case to exceed twenty-four.
