| (1) Where the whole or any part of the undertaking of any company is vested in the Government by virtue of the operation of a vesting Order under this Part, the Minister may appoint any person, by name or by office, to be a competent authority for the purpose of managing such undertaking or part thereof, as the case may be. |

| (2) In the exercise and discharge of the powers and conditions conferred on him by subsection (1), a competent authority shall be subject to such general or special directions as the Minister may issue from time to time. |
