Coconut Research (Amendment) Act (No. 53 of 1961) - Sect 2

Amendment of section 3 of Chapter 440. [ 2, 53 of 1961.]

2. Section 3 of the Coconut Research Ordinance, hereinafter referred to as the " principal enactment ", is hereby amended as follows :-
(1) in subsection (1) (a) of that section, by the substitution, for the words " The Director of Agriculture, who shall be chairman of the board.", of the words " The Director of Agriculture." ;
(2) by the addition at the end of subsection (1) (a) of that section, of the words " The Commissioner of Coconut Rehabilitation. " ; and
(3) by the insertion, immediately after subsection (2) thereof, of the following new subsection :-
" (2A) The chairman of the board shall be elected by the members of the board from themselves.".
