| (1) Every person who is guilty of an offence under this Act shall be liable, on conviction after summary trial before a Magistrate, to a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees or to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment, and shall in addition be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty rupees for each day on which the offence is continued after conviction. |

| (2) On the conviction of an employer for failure to pay any sum which he is liable to pay under this Act, the court may, in addition to any other sentence, order the employer to pay such sum, and such sum may be recovered in the same manner as a fine. |
