55. | (1) Where any poisonous, explosive or stupefying substance or other anxious or harmful material or substance, which can be used for the purpose of poisoning killing or stupefying fish is found in the possession on control of any person in the neighborhood of any area of Sri Lanka Waters, shortly after such substance or material is proved, to have used such substance or material for the purpose aforesaid. |

| (2) where any poisonous explosive or stupefying substance or other noxious or harmful material or substance which can be used for the purpose of poisoning, killing of stupefying fish, if found in the possession or control of any person in a fishing boat in sri lanka waters, that person shall be presumed until the contrary to proved to have attempted to use such substance or material for the purpose aforesaid. |
