Higher Education Act (No. 20 of 1966) - Sect 82

Deprivation of degree, etc., on account of misconduct

82. If any graduate of a University, or any person Who has received a diploma or other academic distinction from the University, or any person upon whom an honorary degree has been conferred by the University, is convicted of any crime or offence involving moral turpitude, or is in the opinion of the Senate guilty of scandalous misconduct, it shall be lawful for the Vice-Chancellor, on the recommendation of not less than two-thirds of the members of the Senate, to do all or any of the following: -
(a) to remove his name from the register of registered graduates;
(b) to deprive him of all privileges of the University which he enjoys.
