Merchant Shipping Act (No. 52 of 1971) - Sect 149

Minister may approve organizations to survey ships and issue certificates

149.
(1) The Minister may also approve any organization for the purpose of surveying ships and issuing certificates referred to in sections 143 and 144 of this Act and may prescribe the conditions under which such organization shall be so approved.
(2) Every certificate issued by an organization approved under sub-section (1) shall have effect for the purposes of this Act as if it had been issued under section 148.
