156. Any person who-
shall be guilty of an offence and on conviction thereof shall be liable to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding two years, or to a fine not exceeding three thousand rupees, or to both such imprisonment and fine. | (a) knowingly and wilfully makes or assists in making or procures to be made a false or fraudulent certificate or declaration of survey issued under section 147; or |

| (b) forges, assists in forging, procures to be forged, fraudulently alters, assists in fraudulently altering or procures to be fraudulently altered any such certificate or declaration, |
