| (1) There shall be established in accordance with the provisions of this Act, an institute which shall be called the Sugarcane Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as " the Institute ") for the purpose of conducting research in respect of the growth and cultivation of sugarcane and the manufacture of any product therefrom. |

| (2) The Institute shall, by the name assigned to it by subsection (1), be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name- |

| (3) The members of the Board of Governors shall be the members of the Institute. |
