Seamen's Welfare Fund Act (No. 24 of 1984) - Sect 2

Application of this Act

2.
(1) The provisions of this Act shall apply to every Sri Lankan who signs Articles in Sri Lanka with a local or foreign shipowner, or agent of such shipowner as the case may be.
(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1), this Act shall not apply to any seaman or the employee of such seaman both of whom contribute to a Government approved provident fund scheme.
