VETERINARY SERVICES ACT, 2003 (ACT NO. XXIII OF 2001)Entry in Registers for Hybrid Breeding Pigs Regulations, 2003

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 34(b) the Veterinary Services Act,
2001, the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment has made the following regulations:-

Title and Scope.1. The title of these regulations is the Entry in Registers for Hybrid Breeding

Pigs Regulations, 2003.
(2) The scope of these regulations is to implement the provisions found under European Union Commission Decision 89/505/EEC laying down the criteria governing entry in registers for hybrid breeding pigs, which in turn finds its legal basis under article 10(c) of European Union Council Directive 88/661/EEC.

Requirements for the registration of hybrid breeding pigs.2. To qualify for entry in the register hybrid breeding pigs have – (a) to be identified after birth according to the rules of that register; (b) parentage established in accordance with the rules of that register.
