[1]THE BOILERS (
(W.P. Ordinance XXXIII of
1958)

An
Ordinance to amend the Boilers Act, 1923, in its application to the
Preamble.— WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Boilers Act,
1923, in its application to the
NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance
of the Presidential Proclamation of the seventh day of October, 1958, and in
exercise of all powers enabling
him in that behalf, the Governor of West
Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-
1. Short title.— [2][(1)] This Ordinance may be called the Boilers (West Pakistan Amendment) Ordinance, 1958.

2. Amendment of section 2, Act V of 1923.— For clause (c) of section 2 of the Boilers Act, 1923 (hereinafter called the Principal Act), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“(a) ‘Chief Inspector’, ‘Additional Chief
Inspector’, ‘Deputy Chief Inspector’ and ‘Inspector’ mean respectively a person
appointed to
be a Chief Inspector, an Additional Chief Inspector, a Deputy Chief
Inspector and an Inspector under this Act;”.
3. Amendment of section 5, Act V of 1923.— In section 5 of the Principal Act—
(i) sub-section (2) shall be
relettered as clause (a) of
sub-section (2) and thereafter the following clause (b) shall be added, namely:-
“(b) The Provincial Government may appoint a person to be an Additional Chief Inspector or Deputy Chief Inspector for a specified area and such Additional Chief Inspector or Deputy Chief Inspector shall have all or any of the powers of Chief Inspector under this Act as the Government may direct and may, in addition to the powers and duties conferred or imposed on him by or under this Act, exercise any power or perform any duty so conferred or imposed on Inspectors;” and
(ii) in sub-section (3) for the words “and every” immediately following the words “Chief Inspector”, the words and commas, “Additional Chief Inspector, Deputy Chief Inspector and” shall be substituted.
4. Amendment of section 15, Act V of 1923.— In section 15 of the Principal Act, between the words “the Chief Inspector” and “or by an Inspector”, the words “or by an Additional Chief Inspector or by a Deputy Chief Inspector” shall be inserted.
5. Amendment of section 21, Act V of 1923.— In section 21 of the Principal Act for the words “or of an” immediately following the words “Chief Inspector”, the words and commas, “Additional Chief Inspector, Deputy Chief Inspector or” shall be substituted.
6. Amendment of section 29, Act V of 1923.— In clause (a)
of section 29 of the Principal Act for the words “and of” immediately following
the words “Chief Inspector”, the words and commas”
Additional Chief Inspectors,
Deputy Chief Inspector and” shall be substituted.
