TRIAL CHAMBER I

ORDER TO PERMIT FILMING IN THE COURT GALLERY

TRIAL CHAMBER I (“The Chamber”) of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (“Special Court”) composed of Hon. Justice Pierre Boutet, Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Bankole Thompson, Hon. Justice Benjamin Mutanga Itoe;

HAVING CONSIDERED the request from Mr. Sylvain Savolainen, commissioned by Radio Suisse Romande Espace 2, for permission to film in the Court Gallery of Court Room I during the trial proceedings of The Prosecutor v. Sam Hinga Norman, Moinina Fofana and Allieu Kondewa;

PURSUANT TO Rule 81 (D) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the Special Court;

ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:

1. That Mr. Sylvain Savolainen is authorised to film in the Court Gallery of Court Room I during trial proceedings on Friday, the 3rd of June, 2005;
2. Unless specifically authorised, Mr. Sylvain Savolainen may not, under any circumstances, film any of the witnesses before the Court or be present in the Court Room during closed sessions, and must comply with all orders of the Court regarding protective measures for witnesses;
3. That Mr. Sylvain Savolainen takes care to conduct his filming in the Court Gallery without a disruption of the proceedings or the public who follow the proceedings, and be accompanied by a member of the Public Affairs Office;
4. That Mr. Sylvain Savolainen signs a declaration with the Office of the Registrar that he will abide by this Order of The Chamber.
